H-Wave - Resident DJ

Updated: May 9, 04:22 PM EST

H-Wave is the current resident DJ for Zerothwave Productions and is one of its founding members. He continues to play a major role in the design, development, and creation process.

During the first two decades of the Twenty-First century, Electronic music has been evolving into a world-wide phenomenon. H-Wave has enjoyed listening to Trance and other Electronic music since 1999, back when Electronic music had been referred to as "Techno" by the general public. At this time, it was well-known only by small groups of people scattered sparsely around the globe. Since then, digitally synthesized Electronic Dance Music, now referred to as "EDM", has evolved into an internationally acclaimed activity involving many millions of people.

In times past, EDM music was harder to obtain on a device until the Internet began acquiring higher bandwidth speeds, starting around the early 2000s with DSL (Digital Subscriber Links) and then later Broadband high-speed downlinks. Live Electronic music at venues and clubs around the world also slowly began to gain much attraction. Many individuals started liking Electronic music in addition to their normal musical favorites. Once people were witnessing the incredible energy observed at many clubs and massive music festivals all over the world, it was only a matter of time before another large rave culture began to spring up.

H-Wave has been listening to Electronic music throughout much of its exciting evolution. Newly produced music had been slow in making its way into the ears of EDM fans until the invention of cheaper and more powerful Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) with all-software interfaces. These gained extensive popularity in the early to mid 2000s undoubtedly resulting in Electronic Dance Music blossoming into one of the most popular forms of artistic musical expression in recent decades.

After hearing a very odd form of Drum & Bass with powerful wobbles and "pipe" sounds back in 2008, H-Wave felt like he was running out of good music to listen to and wanted to hear more. According to the owner of a fellow productions company, these types of wobbles, womps, and gutteral sounds had first been heard at the Burning Man Musical Festival in the summer of 2006. This new sound came to be known as a new musical genre called "Dubstep". For Dubstep and other similar music, the term "Bass Music" is often used instead. With a very loud wobble and an ear-splitting bang, a new great era of EDM had unfolded.

H-Wave had begun DJing a here and there by 2011, but remained only an avid EDM listener. By 2013, EDM was already running out of good music once more and the time was right. H-Wave decided to delve deep into DJing, producing, and sound engineering using current audio technology. It wasn't long before he figured out there was a need for industry standards to be updated and re-imagined. The aim was to begin pursuing the construction of a new sonic interface along with releasing various musical projects often.

As with many things, it took much time to establish a unique style of producing sound that would be suitable for current musical expression known to be enjoyable. Since then, H-Wave and Zerothwave Productions continue to test the technological limits of streaming at or above Ultra High Definition content. Steadily over the past decade, H-Wave has been producing and releasing 1-hour DJ mixes called the H-Wave Late Rave, which take on a Dubstep and Trapstep style. HWLR mixes began in the spring of 2013 and are continuely produced. Eventually, many hundreds will be available bringing reverberant musical expression well into the future. Remix EP albums are being made as well as LP albums. H-Wave began producing original music tracks back as early as 2014, but had chosen not to publish audio due to various corporate distribution issues in the industry within the last decade.

Zerothwave and H-Wave intend to fully circumvent the well-known monopoly created by Youtube, Soundcloud, Itunes, Spotify, Amazon, and other large companies so that artists can get their music heard without the many limitations built within these and other mainstream music publishing platforms. New web-based audio technology now allows for a better option.

As the industry changes and large companies argue and sue one another over the rights to steal royalties from their artists and constituents, Zerothwave Productions continues to build a platform where all music is available regardless of where it comes from, who makes it, who edits it, what label distributed it, or what sound database it is supposedly flagged in.

It is the primary goal of H-Wave and Zerothwave to envision completely new technological advances in streaming audio and the very format all music is played, distributed, heard, and otherwise experienced. The Zerothwave sound engine is up and running with H-Wave at the helm surfing space-time one particle after another.
